
°¬˛ćAƬ Youth Service have celebrated the achievements of young people and staff at a special awards evening to mark Youth Work Week 2026.
The evening at Llanhilleth Miners’ Institute marked the positive contribution that youth work makes to the lives of young people and communities in °¬˛ćAƬ.

It was also an opportunity to officially welcome the new Youth Mayor Daniil Narusberg and Deputy Youth Mayor Phoebe Paton, who spoke about how important the role is and what their priorities are for the year ahead. Thank you to Outgoing Youth Mayor Ellie Colwell and Deputy Chase Campbell.
The evening featured musical performances by young people and shone a spotlight on youth service projects which have made a real difference this year.

The following awards were presented:
- Community Champion: Peyton Grace-Tibbs
- Rising Star: Tegan Roberts
- Voice and Influence: Abi Phillips
- Leadership Award: Peyton Ayres
- Resilience Award: Kira Brooks
- Creative Talent: Kyle Bowen
- Outstanding Youth Worker 2024/25: Lucy Hill
- Outstanding youth worker 2025/26: Matthew Griffitths
- Above and Beyond Youth Worker: 2025/26: Josh Bowen
Councillor Sue Edmunds, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families was at the awards. She said:
“What a truly uplifting night, which celebrated and highlighted the importance and value that youth work plays in supporting young people in our borough. We’re committed to supporting the learning and wellbeing of our young people and helping them to lead healthy, informed lives, and our fantastic Youth Service plays a major part in that.
“Congratulations and welcome to the new Youth Mayor and Deputy Youth Mayor, I look forward to working with you throughout your mayoral year.”
